A ZIMRA-ready till on the phone you already own

Pirates Books rings your sales, fiscalises receipts for ZIMRA's FDMS and keeps a proper set of books — stock, empties, credit customers, payroll, IFRS statements. Built by a Harare distributor on its own counter, priced for the shop it started in: three months free, then $2.99 a month.

Why this exists

Fiscalisation shouldn't cost more than your fridge

ZIMRA's digital fiscalisation is coming for every till in the country — and most solutions want hundreds of dollars for devices, licences and "integration", while the day's takings still live in a counter book. We think a bottle store deserves the same weapons as a supermarket chain, for the price of a soft drink a month.

No fiscal hardware to buy

Built for ZIMRA's software-based FDMS — receipts are signed and transmitted by the app itself once your device ID is enrolled.

Your phone is the till

Any phone, tablet or laptop with a browser. Nothing to install, nothing to maintain, nothing extra on the counter.

One price, everything in

$2.99 a month after a 3-month free trial — till, fiscalisation, books, statements. No per-seat charges, no lock-in.

The software

The tools we run our own depot on

Everything a trading business needs to keep a tight book — built on the counter of a working drinks distributor, so the parts that matter to trade aren't an afterthought.

The till — fast point of sale

Ring up a queue from a phone: tap products, quick-tender chips, change worked out for you — receipt issued in seconds, in USD or ZiG.

ZIMRA fiscalisation

Built for the FDMS — receipts are signed and fiscalised automatically with QR verification, and queue safely offline until the network comes back.

Trade counter & credit

Serve account customers properly — credit limits, statements, ageing and s81A withholding tracked, so on-account trade never gets away from you.

Sales & purchases

Ring up sales and log supplier purchases the way you would at the depot counter — every quart, crate and case, priced and receipted.

Expenses & cash

Track fuel, rent, wages and the day-to-day cash that keeps a distribution business moving — all in one clean book.

Stock & inventory

Know exactly what's on the shelf and on the truck — live counts across lagers, ciders, imports, mixers and water.

Empties & crates

The returnable-deposit system we live by — track empties out, empties in and deposits owed, customer by customer.

Fleet & delivery

Log vehicles, routes, fuel and maintenance so every delivery run earns its keep and nothing slips through.

Payroll & IFRS financials

Run payroll and generate proper IFRS financial statements — income statement, balance sheet and cash flow — ready for the bank or ZIMRA.

Built on our own counter

Software a distributor actually built

We couldn't find a book that understood crates, quarts, returnable deposits and route days — so we wrote our own. It's the same system that keeps Pirates Group's depot straight, day in and day out.

  • Made for drinks trade — crates, empties and delivery runs are first-class, not bolt-ons.
  • Runs on real numbers — the ledger behind a working, decade-plus distribution business.
  • Works where you work — on the phone at the counter or the laptop in the office.
  • Ready for the tax man — the till fiscalises receipts to ZIMRA's FDMS with QR verification, and s81A withholding is tracked for your accountant.

Why we built it

From our depot to yours

Pirates Group has supplied Harare's bars and bottle stores since 2011. To run it well we needed software that spoke the language of the trade — so we built it, and it's kept our sales, stock and empties honest for years. Now we're offering the same tools to other distributors and small businesses who want to run a tighter book without the guesswork.

Questions

Asked at our own counter

Do I need to buy a fiscal device?

No. Pirates Books is built for ZIMRA's software-based FDMS — once your device ID is enrolled, receipts are signed and transmitted by the app itself, with QR verification printed on every one. Until enrolment you trade normally and nothing is transmitted.

What happens after the 3-month free trial?

It's $2.99 a month — pay by EcoCash straight from the app (we send the prompt to your phone) or by bank transfer. No card needed, cancel anytime, and your data stays yours either way.

Will it work with my shop's network?

It's built for real Zimbabwean connectivity. The till keeps ringing when the network dips, and fiscal receipts queue safely and transmit when it comes back — nothing is lost in between.

Can my cashiers use it without seeing the books?

Yes. Cashier logins open straight onto the till and nothing else — the books, reports and settings stay with you. Every sale still lands in your ledger with the cashier's name on it.

Does it handle both USD and ZiG?

Both. Post your rate once a day; the till tenders and gives change in either currency, receipts show the equivalents, and your books keep the USD picture straight throughout.

I sell to other businesses on account — does it handle credit?

That's the trade counter: credit limits with an automatic stop, printable statements with ageing, and s81A withholding tracked in a ledger your accountant can work from directly.
